Stage Two

This week has been a huge eye opening experience for me; not only within my work on the BAPP programme, but also on how the processes and thought processes exercised are beginning to integrate into my professional practice in what I believe to be a positive way.

Over the past few weeks I have delved into my literature review, created in Module Two, and am reading through all the findings. Upon reflection at the beginning of Module Three, I am very happy with the landscape of literature I had previously found and upon delving into this am confident that the choices I made are going to help me within my inquiry as they seem to offer a great overview on the many elements of the landscape of gender and it's place within performing arts.

Specific pieces of literature are becoming apparent as 'key texts' within my discussion, as they are raising topics that relate both to my practice and the topic of my inquiry, particularly 'TRANS: Exploring Gender Identity and Gender Dysphoria' by Dr Az Hakeem; a piece of literature that discusses gender from a scientific approach and has resonated with me and allowed me to gain a stronger description of the landscape around gender.

The process of Stage Two within the Module Three handbook challenges us to think of these findings in relation to how we stand in relation to them within my own ethical considerations and philosophical stance. This has been a fascinating experience as I feel I have really started to appreciate further others experiences and views and allow this to add depth and detail to my own research. This is also spilling even further into my own professional practice and allowing me to gain more understanding of collaboration within my work place and how this creates a more detailed understanding for all.
